Asteraceae are grouped by leaf arrangement and by flower color.  Click on Alternate, Basal, or Opposite in the Header for a listing grouped by flower color will appear.  Click on the flower color and the list will be grouped by leaf arrangement.

The way we view and describe colors is highly subjective.  As space allows only a limited number of choices, I have chosen to limit my colors to: Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Yellow, and White

Some Asteraceae will have 2 colors (e.g., White & Yellow).   The 1st color is that of the ray flower and the 2nd color is that of the disc flower.

Clicking on the Scientific Name will open an image of the plant in another tab.  In most cases there will be additional images of the plant on that linked page.  Use your back arrow to return to the listing. If you click on the Scientific Name it linked to an image of the plant.  In most cases there will be additional images of the plant on that linked page.

To return to the main key, click on the following word:  PLANTS
